The London Dungeon



The London Dungeon is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the capital. It is located along London’s South Bank on Westiminster Bridge Road. This venue recreates various historical macabre and gory events using gallows style humours.

Story of The London Dungeon

The London Dungeon was founded in 1974 by Annabel Gedden. It is located on Tooley Street and it was originally designed as a museum of macabre history. As time passed by, it evolved into an actor-led interactive experience full of special effects and rides. During those presentations visitors could observe historical figures such as Boudica, Thomas Becket or Mary Tudor.

Through the years, it gradually became more entertaining, finally presenting the infamous British history events, such as The Great Fire of London or Jack The Ripper murderous activites. In 2011 the Vengeance 5D segment was opened and it became UK’s first 5D standard ride. In 2013 the Dungeon was transfered to the London County Hall.

The London Dungeon is a very significant tourist attraction. In roughly 2 hours it gives an opportunity to walk through a thousand years old London dark past. The venue has over 19 shows and underground rides, such as ‘Descent’; ‘The Tyrant – Boat Ride’; ‘Great Fire of London’; ‘Drop Dead: Drop Ride to Doom’. This exceptional place is open for everybody, although, youngsters under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
