About the Role
Base Location: Belfast (flexible)
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 depending on skills and experience + plus annual bonus+ a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing
Working Pattern: Permanent, full time | Flexible First options available
What is the role?
An exciting opportunity has been created for a Finance Manager to join the finance team under the SSE Customer Energy Solutions Business. You will be responsible for comprehensive financial analysis, general accounting and period closing activities for the regulated Gas NI business. In addition, you will have responsibility for the statutory accounts and statutory audit of the Airtricity Gas NI company. The successful candidate will work closely with the Internal Control Business Partner to maintain high levels of financial control, accurate and timely execution of general accounting activities and improving business processes. This role will be on a full-time basis but offering flexibility on working location.
Key Accountabilities
– Effectively communicating financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business
– Able to manage multiple complex projects/processes simultaneously
– Interpreting and assimilating multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight and appropriate recommendations and clear actions
– Operationally and commercially focused
– Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
– Able to develop, motivate and lead a diverse team
– Excellent knowledge of current regulations including new financial accounting standards
– Influence strategy and translate this into actionable programmes, opportunities or activities that result in improved profitability or risk mitigation
What do I need?
– Fully qualified accountant with 5+ years Post Qualified Experience in a Finance Manager/Senior Financial Accountant role, with experience of developing, motivating and leading a diverse, and multi-locational team
– Knowledge of Irish energy market and an understanding of underlying market segments
– Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly excel)
– Adaptive to changing objectives and priorities to deliver results
– Able to manage multiple complex projects/processes simultaneously
