Assistant Engineer (Traffic & Signals)
Salary Range £35,484 – £38,157 plus Market Premia (Market Premia to be reviewed by March 2023)
An Assistant Engineer is required within the Traffic and Signals team to lead technical staff and provide support to Senior Engineers and the Team Manager. You will provide a high-quality traffic management and road safety initiatives throughout Leicestershire and ensure that services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire.
The successful applicant will lead the design and delivery of strategic traffic management and safety related schemes and other studies. The successful candidate will lead a variety of strategic management projects.
This is a varied and interesting role with opportunities to develop your career within Leicestershire County Council and learn new skills in traffic and highways engineering.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification OR significant demonstrable experience as detailed in the person specification. Membership of or working toward a professional qualification.
• Development and project management of traffic management projects and works programmes.
• Extensive experience of the preparation and presentation of complex information to a wide audience, such as cabinet reports and contract documents.
• Detailed knowledge of highway legislation and policies, public sector procurement and contract documents.
• Collaborative working across the organisation to deliver schemes in fulfilment of the County Councils core objectives.
• Able to lead and develop staff.
