Andy Murray – tennis legend – was very successful since his junior years. In 2003 he won Canadian Open. Year later he was a triumphant of Junior US Open. In 2005 he was in the semi-finals of Junior French Open and in April the same year, he started his professional career in ATP (Barcelona).
His first steps in the Grand Slam tournament was in 2005 and he got to the third round of Wimbledon. Year later he won first ATP championship, winning in finals with Lleyton Hewitt [2:6, 6:2, 7:6 (3)]. In 2008 Andy Murray got to the finals of Grand Slam – in ATP World Tour Masters 1000, when he defeated Novak Djokovic 7:6 (4), 7:6 (5). Later he performed his skills against Roger Federer in US Open finals, but finally lost [3:6, 4:6, 6:7 (11)]. Same thing happened in rematch during Australian Open 2010, also later in 2012 during Wimbledon finals (6:4, 5:7, 3:6, 4:6).
2012 was a great year for Murray because he won US Open (match with Novak Djokovic 7:6 (10), [7:5, 2:6, 3:6, 6:2] and in 2013 he was the triumphant of Wimbledon, again after great victory against Novak Djokovic (6:4, 7:5, 6:4). Murray repeated his victory in Grand Slam in 2016 after amazing match with Canadian Milos Raonic [6:4, 7:6 (3), 7:6 (2)]. The same year he got the first place on the ATP ranking. During London Olympics in 2012 he won gold medal (after winning with Roger Federer) and four years later he became first tennisist who hold his title and won once again (with Juan Martin del Potro).

In 2017, Andy Murray suffered a serious hip injury that he struggled with from months. He reported it after his performance in the final of Davis Cup. He initially played with severe pain and underwent two surgeries and recovery.
He tried to return to the court with a metal hip, but the discomfort persisted. The player seriously considered ending his career. He struggled with depression. In 2018, he tried to play, but after the injury he couldn’t get back to old results. In 2019, after his second surgery, he started to have great moments, although it was still far from what he showed before. However, in October that year he managed to win his first tournament – the European Open, In the final he defeated the titled Stanislaw Wawrinka (3:6, 6:4, 6:4). It was his first title since March 2017.
Andy Murray is unquestionably tennis legend. He has been one of the highest earning tennis players in the world for many years. His on-court earnings in 2016 were almost $16.4 million, which is the second best ever when it comes to an individual year. He is currently fourth on the all-time list when it comes to tennis players’ earnings with $61 million. He is only surpassed by Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
